Course Technology Adds CIW Certification Program to Courseware Library
Prosoft’s Official CIW Curriculum to Be Sold by Largest IT Courseware Provider
Phoenix, ArizonaNovember 10, 2004 – ProsoftTraining (NASDAQ: POSO) and Course Technology, a division of Cengage Learning, today announced they have entered into an agreement to enable Course Technology to distribute Prosoft’s Official CIW Curriculum on a global basis. The agreement marks the first time Prosoft has engaged an independent courseware vendor to offer the CIW product line.
“Course Technology is the largest IT courseware vendor in the world, and this agreement immediately and substantially increases the market reach of the CIW certification program. Course Technology’s sales force is many times larger than our own, exponentially increasing our ability to promote and distribute CIW,” said Robert Gwin, Prosoft’s chairman and CEO. “By partnering with Course Technology, we now have the ability to expand the CIW program much more rapidly across academia in the United States, and to fully implement the statewide agreements we have signed to date. In addition, Course Technology’s global capabilities enhance our ability to reach additional customers in other countries, where the CIW certification program has enjoyed substantial market acceptance in the past.”
CIW is one of the most successful certification programs in the Information Technology (IT) industry. As the largest Internet certification program, CIW is designed to educate students and professionals in core job skills, including Web site design, e-commerce site design, Web development and security, systems administration, and networking. The CIW certification program has been embraced by seven state governments in the United States for integration into their mainstream academic curricula in public high schools, community colleges, and trade and technical schools. Given Course Technology’s demonstrated success in distributing content broadly across academia, Prosoft’s focus is expected to shift to expanding the adoption of the CIW program to additional state and local governments across the country.Prosoft and Course Technology Announce CIW Agreement
“We’re very excited to offer the Official CIW Curriculum to our customers,” said Dave West, president of Course Technology. “This addition will provide our customers with valuable courseware to enhance their training opportunities.”
