As an Associate Professor of Computer Science and the Computer Science Program Chair at California University of Pennsylvania, I teach a wide array of upper and lower division Computer Science major courses to more than 60 students. I was not pleased with the courseware available from other publishers and I knew that I needed both improved materials for instruction delivery as well as better integrated instruction approach. Because of this I chose Course Technology as my courseware provider and an outlet for the introduction of integrated technology approach to classroom teaching.

I have used Course Technology textbooks in the past and find both the textbooks and the supportive teaching materials to be the best fit for my courses. I also appreciate how Course Technology supplies me with all of the resources I will need to teach using the textbook. I find that the textbooks and related supporting materials really help in alleviating the weakness in my teaching. I am able to deliver course material and instruction more effectively than ever before.

I have also found that students respond very well to the Course Technology textbooks we are using. For instance their Data Structures textbooks help students visualize the computer data structures much better. The supplied ADTs help students realize the data structures in practically oriented application development. It made the information easier to comprehend and ready to visualize for my students.

All of this has lead to improved student performance. I find that students’ attention level is much better now and students are happier in the courses now than ever before using previous courseware. Course Technology textbooks and materials have made a great impact with my students and in my courses and I would advise other instructors to consider Course Technology for their courses as well.
